A Steel Box (occasionally referred to as metal boxes unofficially) is a type of box that was introduced in Wonderland. As the name suggests, it appears as a metallic silvery box with square indentations on each face. There are also darker gray square-shaped marks on the sides with a lighter gray circle in the middle.

Steel Boxes are one of the most durable box types in the Classic Trilogy being able to block fireballs without breaking and being the only official box type to withstand lava. However, they can still be destroyed by explosions, active Electro Tiles, protracted Spikes, and colliding with other box types except for Wooden Boxes and Sticky Cubes. Their high density also causes them to sink in water and lava, and a second box type must also be used to construct a bridge.
