As of Release 3, Stinky and Loof in Wonderland has support for player-created levels as well as an online Custom Level Database. While the Custom Level Database is available in all versions of the game, players can only create and upload levels in the Steam version. When making a level, players also have the option to import levels made using the Return to Wonderland editor. Custom levels can also be grouped together in Stories which are then accessible in the Story Selection menu under Custom Stories. Players can share their created levels and Stories by either using uploading them to the Custom Level Database or by exporting their level as a .loof file which can then be shared using external sites. | |||
==Story Maps== | |||
| |||
Release 4 of the game added support for story maps. Maps are created in a dedicated editor, and each map must contain the following elements: a name, a description, a background graphic, and a Story. Hotspots are used to dictate where on the map the player can navigate. There are categories of hotspot: Level, Gate, and Secret Level. If a hotspot is a level or secret level, players can also decide on a reward upon level completion: a Gold Star, a Rainbow Star, any of the Secret Worlds items, or nothing. Levels with no reward use Rainbow Coins as collectables and a Rainbow Gate as the end-of-level goal while levels with a reward use Keys as collectables with the selected reward as the end-of-level goal. If a hotspot is a secret level, that hotspot will be hidden until it is highlighted with the map pointer. Gates can have their toll amount and toll type adjusted and are usually visible on the map. If a Gate is connected to a secret level, that Gate will also be hidden by default. | |||
Maps can be uploaded to and downloaded from the Custom Level Database. The game is bundled with one Story Map by default, the Secret Worlds map which allows players to play Wonderland Secret Worlds levels in their original format. | |||

The iOS and Android versions of the game are free to play with an energy system and ad support. Initially, only certain stories were ad-supported (namely the Tutorial, Entering Wonderland, and Deeper into Wonderland stories), but as of Release 2, all stories are free with ads. The energy system and ads can be removed by purchasing stories. Stories can either be purchased individually or all together as a bundle. The pricing of each story and the bundle were initially higher before later being reduced. | |||

Stinky and Loof in Wonderland is a remake of the Classic Trilogy developed by TootSuite Games. It was released on January 9, 2022 for iOS and Android, and on December 26, 2023 for Steam (PC). There are currently plans to release this game on other platforms such as Linux and the Nintendo Switch. When the game first launched, only levels from Wonderland, Return to Wonderland (RTW) Classic Edition, and RTW Deluxe Edition were included with future updates adding levels from Wonderland Secret Worlds (WSW) and RTW Platinum Edition, a level editor and custom level database, and the ability to create story maps.
Stories
Levels in Stinky and Loof in Wonderland are grouped under distinct stories, which are further divided into chapters. All the levels are taken from the Classic Trilogy.
The following stories are classified as Standard Stories:
Story | Level Count | Origin | Description |
---|---|---|---|
Tutorial | 20 | RTW Deluxe tutorial levels | "Get acquainted with Stinky and Loof and their friends... and enemies!" |
Entering Wonderland | 41 | RTW Classic Worlds 1-5 | "Travel through new worlds, solving tricky puzzles along the way! Visit a fire pit while chased by monsters and a spooky castle haunted by ghosts. Then get past a close encounter with hostile UFOs to escape to a relaxing(?) garden." |
Deeper Into Wonderland | 44 | RTW Classic Worlds 6-10 | "Ready for something more challenging? Follow Stinky and Loof deeper into Wonderland, from the oceans of Atlantis to far underground, and then to the edge of space itself. Take time on the way for some retro gaming, with a Wonderland take on Space Invaders, Pac Man, Frogger and more." |
The Search for the Rainbow Spirits | 51 | RTW Deluxe Worlds 1-8 | "How about an even greater challenge? The Rainbow Spirits that are the heart of Wonderland are lost in their Rainbow World, and Stinky and Loof must find them and help them return home! On the way, they meet new friends Qookie, in the cottage in the woods, and Peegue, the Mayor of Wondertown. But events take a dark turn when Wondertown is invaded by UFOs and Peegue is taken prisoner! Can you help Stinky, Loof, and Qookie rescue Peegue, find the Rainbow World, and help the Rainbow Spirits return there?" |
Secret Worlds | 109 | All WSW Levels | "A magical storm has blown into Wonderland and swept away the little Stinkers! To find them, you must conquer some of the most challenging levels yet! Venture from the heart of a volcano to the top of Foggy Peak, down through caves and into the mysterious Void. Can you rescue the lost Stinkers?" |
Back to Wonderland | 75 | Wonderland Chapters 2-10 | "How was life in Wonderland before the UFOs arrived and the Rainbow Spirits were stolen? Find out in this set of devilishly puzzling levels! Take Stinky and Loof from the Water Palace to the heart of the volcano, but watch out for the Spiral of Doom!" |
The Playground | 13 | Wonderland Chapter 1, The Playground, 3 bonus levels | "A self-contained story (with its own tutorial!) that's a collection of levels for younger or less-experienced players - or for anyone wanting a relaxing focus on exploration, discovery, and simple puzzles." |
The Secret Worlds story was added in Release 2 of the game. In Release 3, three additional stories were added. These stories are classified as Custom Stories.
Story | Level Count | Origin | Description |
---|---|---|---|
Wonderland 101 | 10 | Wonderland 101 from RTW Classic | "Some relaxing levels to re-introduce you to the fundamentals of Wonderland" |
Beyond Wonderland | 20 | RTW Platinum levels | "Venture beyond Wonderland to a new set of adventures! Encounter transporters, trampolines, sticky cubes, push cannons and more in a new series of challenging levels (especially the later levels)! Can you handle them... and use them in your own levels?" |
Fifth Anniversary | 13 | The winning submissions for the Wonderland 5th Anniversary Level Competition | "Some interesting levels created by players like you in honor of the fifth anniversary of the original Wonderland game. These levels are the winning entries from a contest with hundreds of submissions. Maybe they can inspire you?" |
Custom Levels
As of Release 3, Stinky and Loof in Wonderland has support for player-created levels as well as an online Custom Level Database. While the Custom Level Database is available in all versions of the game, players can only create and upload levels in the Steam version. When making a level, players also have the option to import levels made using the Return to Wonderland editor. Custom levels can also be grouped together in Stories which are then accessible in the Story Selection menu under Custom Stories. Players can share their created levels and Stories by either using uploading them to the Custom Level Database or by exporting their level as a .loof file which can then be shared using external sites.
Story Maps
Changes from the Original Games
- The game was built in Unity as opposed to Blitz3D. As a result, some animations, graphical effects, and physics are different from the original PC releases.
- Wooden Boxes use a different texture.
- Water tiles now use Unity's water effects.
- Shadows are generated using dynamic shadows as opposed to placing a round, "beach ball" shadow underneath objects like in the original releases. These can be disabled in the settings menu.
- Some solutions that work in the original releases may not work in the remake as a result of the altered physics.
- Widescreen is natively supported.
- The ability to save the game's current position in a level was added. It works similarly to save slots in the Wonderland Adventures Trilogy though the player is only able to create one saved position per level at a time.
- Power-Ups and in-game hints were added to help players clear levels more easily.
- The game uses Stars to track level completion. One star is added when the level is cleared, another is added when the level is cleared with all the Bonus Coins collected, and another is added when the level is cleared without using any Power-Ups. Getting all 3 Stars is similar to getting Gold in Return to Wonderland and Wonderland Secret Worlds.
- The game's script was changed to use American English spellings as opposed to British/Canadian English spellings like the original games. For example, "colour" is spelled as "color", and the level name for Guarded Centre was rewritten as Guarded Center.
- The Secret Worlds story contains several differences from Wonderland Secret Worlds. Most of these changes do not apply to the Secret Worlds story map.
- Some changes were made to maintain consistency with the rest of the stories.
- Levels are selected from a list as opposed to a map.
- Keys have been replaced with Rainbow Coins, and every end-of-level object is a Rainbow Gate.
- Some of the chapters reflecting the original game's worlds are located in different positions.
- Cloud City goes between Foggy Mountains and Fire Island.
- Levels taking place in The Caves as well as Entrance to "The Caves" and The Lost Wonderland Mine take place inside The Volcano as opposed to under the Foggy Mountains. The setting for Entrance to the Caves is also changed to reflect its relocation. The chapter containing these levels are placed immediately after the chapter corresponding to The Volcano.
- The Creepy Keep was relocated to be the story's 11th chapter. In the original game, it was the fifth major area.
- A couple of levels have different names. Free the Key was renamed to Underground Passage, and The Magic of the Rainbow was renamed to Somewhere Over the Rainbow. This difference is retained in the Secret Worlds story map.
- The signs referencing the Rainbow Stars and hinting towards the existence of Cloud City in The Old Cabin were rewritten due not using the map system.
- Some changes were made to maintain consistency with the rest of the stories.
- Changes specific to the iOS and Android versions:
- By default, the game runs in 30 frames per second though it can run in 60 FPS like the original games if the "Smoother Animation" option is checked in Other Settings. This is due to Unity games for mobile devices defaulting to 30 FPS.
- Due to the game's free-to-play model, Energy has been added to limit how much one can play the game at one time. Additionally, an ad will play before starting a level. Energy and ads can be removed by buying the full versions of the stories.
Pricing
The iOS and Android versions of the game are free to play with an energy system and ad support. Initially, only certain stories were ad-supported (namely the Tutorial, Entering Wonderland, and Deeper into Wonderland stories), but as of Release 2, all stories are free with ads. The energy system and ads can be removed by purchasing stories. Stories can either be purchased individually or all together as a bundle. The pricing of each story and the bundle were initially higher before later being reduced.
Story | Initial price (USD) | Reduced price (USD) |
---|---|---|
Tutorial | $0.99 | $0.99 |
Entering Wonderland | $4.99 | $2.99 |
Deeper Into Wonderland | $4.99 | $2.99 |
The Search for the Rainbow Spirits | $5.99 | $2.99 |
Secret Worlds | $7.99 | $3.99 |
Back to Wonderland | $5.99 | $2.99 |
The Playground | $0.99 | $0.99 |
The bundle containing all the stories can be purchased for $9.99 (originally $19.99).
The Steam version costs a flat price of $9.99 with no free version available. However, a demo with the first chapter of the Tutorial story playable can be accessed on the TootSuite Games website.
